Eight years on security systems
I started as an intern in May 2014, was hired as a software engineer after I graduated in 2016, and left as a senior software engineer in November 2022. Along the way I got secure boot running on hardware where it hadn't been shown to be possible, and led an internal R&D security system from its first day.

A year of testing, in three months
I oversaw and helped run a testing effort across about half a million lines of code. It was planned for a year and reached over 90% coverage in three months.

Secure boot on an unproven card
Nobody had shown it could be done on this card, and earlier attempts had failed. I got secure boot running and delivered a working demo after about three months. I also ran other major testing efforts and supported major contracts.
Senior software engineer, 2018 to 2022
Three years leading an R&D system
I was lead engineer on an internal R&D program for about three years, from its inception until I left: a next-generation security system for critical defense assets. I was also principal investigator on two R&D projects with multi-million-dollar funding.
Leading people
Team lead and scrum master for more than two years. I ran meetings and technical demonstrations for engineers and for business audiences.
Recognition
I received the Mission Excellence Award in 2018, for dedication and contributions to the work.
What I worked in
I wrote this code by hand. C and C++ ran on embedded hardware, Python talked to low-level hardware over serial, and I also worked in React, TypeScript and gRPC.
